Cyber Protection Specialist Certification

This four-hour certification course provides a comprehensive and integrated approach to electronic security, covering essential topics related to cybersecurity, information security, low-voltage and electronic security systems, and network fortification. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard electronic systems and mitigate potential risks in various personal and professional settings.

The course commences with “Cybersecurity 101: An Introduction to Digital Security,” offering a high-level overview of cybersecurity. It focuses on critical aspects for both electronic security professionals and beginners, delving into key cybersecurity concepts, common cyber threats, and best practices for safeguarding systems. The module highlights the importance of the CIA Triad, the evolving nature of cyber threats, and the significance of continuous education and adaptation to emerging technologies like AI, IoT security, and blockchain. Participants will also learn about multi-layered security strategies, secure configurations, and effective incident response plans.

Next, the “Digital Armor: Strengthening Security Awareness” module covers modern security technologies and their vulnerabilities. It provides an overview of low voltage and electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and fire alarm systems, while emphasizing best practices for mitigating vulnerabilities and protecting against unauthorized access and operational disruptions.

Guarding the Grid” further includes a comprehensive overview of information security, addressing various topics such as computer acceptable use, work from home (WFH) security, cybercrime, phishing, email security, and measures to secure personal and sensitive information. Participants will also gain insights into password safety, social engineering, ransomware threats, and responsible usage of web services.

Lastly, the “Network Fortification: Safeguarding Low-Voltage and Electronic Systems” module provides an extensive overview of network security specific to low voltage and electronic systems. It covers network security controls, common threats, vulnerabilities, best practices, and network security monitoring, emphasizing continuous vigilance and up-to-date practices in defending against cyberattacks.

Upon completion of this certification course, individuals will be equipped with essential knowledge and skills to fortify electronic systems, promote safe online practices, and implement robust cybersecurity measures while continuously adapting to the dynamic landscape of cyber threats.

NOTE: There are no prerequisite requirements for taking this cybersecurity certification series. Certificates of Completion for State Approved CEU’s will be written upon request.

Product Description / Course Objectives

Cyber Protection Specialist Certification:

All approved courses, curriculum, & quizzing will be offered through a self-paced web based training platform. The Certification Test (i.e. final exam) will be a one-hour proctored final exam with a nationally recognized testing company.

  • All four hours of instruction will be divided into 1 hour segments for a total of 4 classroom equivalent hours. 
    • NOTE: Course modules will be delivered through SCORM standard LMS (Learning Management System) compliant software. 
  • All progress and results are tracked in real-time offering immediate interaction with the student, as well as the ability for the student to log off and log back on where they left off.
  • Throughout the course modules, the student must answer knowledge checks, and at the end of each course module, there is a mandatory final (cannot receive credit unless a score of 70% or better is obtained).

 

Final Exam:
Final Exams are taken ONLINE with national testing service, Proctor Exams (ProctorExams.com).
Please verify that you can meet system requirements to complete the final exam.

  • After all module sections have been completed, use the automatic single sign-on button to access your Exam via Proctor Exams. This access will appear only after all applicable coursework has been completed.
  • A picture ID are needed in order to take the proctored one hour final exam.
  • Using your Elite CEU login you will complete the proctored 30 question final exam.
  • Once the final exam is passed with a 70% or better, and the Exam Verification has been completed, Elite CEU will be notified and a Certificate of Completion will be processed and sent directly to the student within 2 business days of Exam Verification.
  • NOTE: If a student fails to pass the exam, they can immediately retake the online proctored final exam and will pay a $45 retesting fee to Proctor Exams. To purchase an exam at a later date, use your Elite CEU login to to access your single sign-on for purchasing.
