As the electronic security industry transitions into IP-based equipment, it is important for security technicians to understand how to connect devices onto local network switches, how switches function on a local network, and the various programming options that are available in the common network switches in use at client locations. This course will assist technicians in both the knowledge of how switches work and also provide them with the terminologies of various switch options so that students can accurately discuss connection options with their clients’ IT management.
