This ten hour course is designed to fulfill Florida’s license renewal training requirements for dual licensed (FASA) Fire Alarm System Agents and (BASA) Burglar Alarm System Agents. The focus of this course is to teach all students within the fire and alarm system industries the following:
– Identifying and applying current AHJ, IBC, NFPA (70, 72, 101) codes
– Review of up to fire alarm system technology and their applications
– Troubleshooting techniques
– Communication and signaling of fire alarm systems
– Types of notification and initiating devices and their functions
– NFPA 72 applications
– False alarm prevention
– Review of up to burglar alarm system technology and their applications
– Alarm communication
– Sensors
– Testing and maintenance of burglar alarm systems
– Communication and signaling of burglar alarm systems
Content will focus on a brief review of foundational topics and a basic education in the information, skills, and techniques needed for Fire Alarm Systems Agents and Burglar Alarm Systems Agents.
