Overview of NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace- Electrical

This course provides an overview of the standards and articles covered in the 2012 NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. The course details general requirements for electrical safety-related work practices, including employee training requirements, proper use of personal and other protective equipment, and establishing electrically safe work conditions. Students will learn maintenance requirements for equipment and how to ensure a safe area when working where electrical hazards are present. Participants’ knowledge is gauged throughout the module with interactive quizzes and a final ten-question exam.

  • Understand general requirements for electrical safety-related work practices, including employee training, use of personal and other protective equipment, and taking proper precautions from electrical hazards.
  • Learn safety-related maintenance requirements for equipment used where electrical hazards are present.
  • Comprehend safety requirements and safety-related work practices for special equipment.

 

This course must be taken with both the Administrative Rules of the TX Department of Licensing and Regulation and 2014 NEC Wiring Methods and Materials classes to receive credit for a Texas Electrician renewal.
